-- Perhaps the last historically significant, unaltered piece of property in Quakertown, the Nathan Watrous Farm was sold in March 2009, in a deal crafted by Attorney Robert H. Hovey (of Rocky Hill, CT). All 58 acres of farmland, with historic house and farm buildings, were purchased for less than $360,000 by a group headed by Peter Gardner (partner in Dieter & Gardner, Inc., of Gales Ferry, CT), which appears to be planning the aggressive development of the site.
(In a new development off Col. Ledyard Hwy. less than half a mile to the north, single building lots are currently being sold "starting at $144,900.")
